My hair is very damaged due to years of heat and cheap products.
Now that I am older, I want to invest money on my hair so that it can be healthier and better maintained. I’ve heard about Living Proof hair products but didn’t consider buying because of the price point.
Recently, I’ve been trying more expensive hair products and I am noticing a tremendous different in only a few weeks so I figured I’d give Living Proof a shot next.

I was running out of shampoo and conditioner and decided to try those products first.
Initially, I wasn’t sure which shampoo and conditioner to get so I clicked on the very first option called Perfect Hair Day. I also wasn’t sure which size to get because I wanted enough product to really get a feel if I like it or not. I ended up getting the 8 oz which retailed for $27 each.
Although, I really considered getting the biggest size because the packaging had a pump top instead of a cap.
With my purchase, I received four samples: the full thickening cream, full shampoo, full conditioner and a blowout styling and finishing spray. The thickening cream, shampoo sample and conditioner sample looks like enough product for just one use however the styling and finishing spray looks like I can try for about three to four uses.
First Use Impression:
The shampoo and condition smell have a grapefruit scent, which was enjoyable to me. My hair didn’t feel as clean after the first wash but it could be from build up of previous products I’ve used.
One week update:
Honestly, in the middle of the week I thought that I didn’t notice a difference and was a little upset on the fact of how much money this product was. By the end of the week, I noticed how shiny and bouncy my hair looked on the second day and took back my midweek thoughts.
One month update:
I feel like my hair seems cleaner longer and I can go without dry shampoo. However, I feel like the smell isn’t as pleasant. At first it was a grapefruit smell but now it smells a little different.
I’m not sure exactly how to describe it or why that is. It could be mixed with the natural scent of my hair but I don’t notice a terrible smell once my hair is dried.
I did repurchase the shampoo/conditioner mid-experiment, so I will say that I did enjoy this combo. I am even looking into trying the other products that Living Proof offers. If you are looking to improve your hair routine, I’d highly recommend this product.
